Quinn Johnson was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho and raised in Idaho and Utah. My childhood was filled with drawing monsters, superheroes, and ninjas, and coming up with complex stories and ideas for comic books, movies, and video games. I also began writing lengthy stories in a junior high creative writing class.
I attended Brigham Young University for a year before spending two years in Atlanta, Georgia as a volunteer proselyting missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I then fully pursued my dream of writing, hopping on a Greyhound bus with all my belongings and heading off to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design, which I'd been accepted into but never visited. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Sequential Art, the study of comic book storytelling and conceptual design.
My "big break" came when I pitched a story for the comic book series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which became issue #31. Since then I've written for Kung Fu Panda, Megamind, Richie Rich, and more. My biggest project to date is Elders of the RuneStone, co-created with artist Robert Q. Atkins.
I am an impromptu stand-up comedian, love sushi and old-school video games, and enjoy a good martial arts flick. I also have the tendency to burst into song at the most inopportune times.
